A Montreal station captain has been demoted and transferred for being caught painting the windows of his station red, white and blue in support of the Montreal Canadiens’ playoff efforts.
Now, the firefighters have been doing some not so great things lately as pressure tactics on the city during contract negotiations, but this just looks bad for the city administration.
I was using a nifty, but simple, instant messenging client called Pidgin for a year or two. Unfortunately, I was seduced by another client that is much prettier but slightly more bloated. Digsby supports AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber, as well as giving you the option to receive email and social networking updates via cute little pop-up bubbles at the corner of your screen. It also has cool themes and shit. Check it.
So I have approximately four dollars until this Thursday, which is the most lovely of days. That of course being payday. I’ve pulled off living on less for longer, however. There was a period of time where I was between jobs, and I got by on eating rice (flavoured with soy sauce) twice a day. I hope I don’t have to return to that state anytime soon, but it’s always good to know I can get by.
The important thing is that I have an ample supply of bagels and cream cheese. Without this duo, I would truly be lost, regardless of income.
